The short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Who we are
Yufena Explorers (“Yufena”, “we”, “us”) runs yufena.com and its lessons. Yufena is run by Norman Lau, based in Penang, Malaysia. For anything about your data, email [email protected].
The laws we follow
We follow Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 and Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012.
What we collect
- Browsing the site and the lessons: nothing about you or your child. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking cookies and no ads. Anything your child types into a lesson stays on your device and is gone when you close the page.
- Pilot sign-up: only what a parent types into the form: parent name, email, child’s age, location and, if you choose, a question your child asked.
- Emails you send us: whatever you choose to include.
Children
Our lessons are for children aged 7–9, used with a grown-up. Children don’t have accounts and we never ask them for personal details. Only a parent or guardian can sign up.
How we use it
We use sign-up details only to run the pilot: to email you about dates, price, sessions and feedback, and to shape future lessons. Your child’s age, location and question help us plan sessions that suit them.
We don’t show ads. We never sell, rent or trade your data.
Who else handles it
- Formspree receives the sign-up form and passes it to us by email. Its servers may be outside Malaysia and Singapore.
- Our email provider stores the messages we send and receive.
- Our website host may keep basic technical logs (such as IP addresses) for security.
- Payhip will handle payments when paid lessons launch, under its own privacy policy.
We only use services that protect personal data, and we only share what each one needs to do its job.
How long we keep it
We keep pilot details while the pilot runs and for up to 12 months afterwards, then delete them, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
Your rights
At any time you can ask us to:
- show you the data we hold about you or your child,
- correct anything that is wrong,
- stop emailing you, or
- delete your data.
Just email [email protected]. We will reply within 21 days. It is free.
Keeping it safe
We keep sign-up details in password-protected accounts that only Yufena can access. If something ever goes wrong with your data, we will tell you, and the authorities where the law requires it.
Changes
If we change this notice, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If the change is important, we will email families who have signed up.
